Where there's Beat there's Brass
31/01/11
Beatndrum Music
We are always on the lookout for dedicated brass players - especially trumpet, trombone and tuba. Sax players always welcome also.
Percussion and brass have always sounded excellent together, and the Beat Carnival are looking to develop the musical content of the group.
We have space in Beatndrum for those who have learned the basics, those that are a bit rusty from playing in their younger days, and those that consider Louis Armstrong as a chancer and maybe just hit it lucky. Accomplished sax player Chris Malinski has agreed to take on classes of beginners who wish to develop their skills while secretly training you up to be carnival participants with a penchant for wearing funky costumes and travelling far and wide performing for the fun and the big sounds we will make.
Are you experienced?
We also seek sight readers and experienced musicians who may wish to participate in special carnival projects that come up from time to time.
Youth DrumBeat
Youth groups who are interested in developing the repertoire and performance skills of potential young brass players in an easy going, informative and fun environment should be interested in this. We already work with groups developing a high standard of percussion, and so would like to invite youth and school groups who would like to take part in carnival and other events to register an interest with Damian at the Beat.

If this sounds good to you, and for registration of interest, please contact Damian Mills at the beat on 02890 434767, or email damian@beatcarnival.com
