Beat's summer event:

Life Is A Carnival!

A Carnival Picnic in the Park. Circus actors and puppets on walkabout; singers on stage, music here and drumming there; twisting, tumbling gymnasts and, high above, aerial dancers on the wall. A unique spectacle of artistic, physical performance declaring that life is a circus – Life Is A Carnival!

All ages can participate in the Picnic in the Park through Saturday and Sunday workshops for puppet making and puppet parading, as well as enjoying the Sunday afternoon of entertainment that culminates in vertical dance on the wall of the Ulster Museum.

We will be celebrating by involving a broad range of individuals, families, community organisations – of differing abilities – in a creative programme where everyone's contributions highlight the fun and reward of achievement. A picnic in the park sets the scene for celebration. The range of artforms from drawing to drumming to dance, allows everyone to engage in celebration. The skills on show, demand celebration.

The event is free of charge.

4.30pm Puppet and carnival band procession to the event finalé spectacle –

5.00pm Life Is A Carnival! spectacle performance in front of and on the wall of the Ulster Museum, featuring musicians, gymnasts and aerial dancers.
