Beat Carnival at the City of Lisburn Mayor’s Carnival Parade 2014

Beat Carnival is delighted to be creating the main floats and performances for the 2014 City of Lisburn Mayor’s Carnival Parade – FAIRYTALES!

Come join us on Saturday 10th May for a magical carnival featuring every fairytale character you could wish for: Beauty and the Beast, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf, Little Red Riding Hood and The Other Big Bad Wolf, Pinocchio and his Puppet Master and hordes of other magical creatures.

Watch out for the Pied Piper and his Dancing Rats! Our samba band, BEATnDRUM, will be helping the Pied Piper lure our whiskered friends through the streets with funky tunes you can’t help but dance to.

Look out for Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter moving through the crowds in search of their tea party, as you enjoy our magical carnival floats:

Jack & The Beanstalk

The Giant, sitting by his giant beanstalk is 21 feet tall – and that’s sitting down! The beanstalk is even higher – but Jack will climb it anyway…

Hickory Dickory Dock Clock

Two mice inside a giant hamster-wheel clock rotate the clock cage which drives the wheels, powering the clock along. Two more mice operate and steer the travelling clock, while a fifth giant rodent runs up to the top. Horsepower is so 2013.

Cinderella Coach

Cinderella will be singing from high on top of a pumpkin coach driven by her handsomely dressed coachmen mice.

Gingerbread House

We’re very excited at to be bringing you special performances from the talented performing arts and music students at Lisburn SERC! Two costumed bands will perform in the Gingerbread House, with dancers busting moves on the street outside, alongside Hansel and Gretel and some Gingerbread Men.

Music students from SERC who’ve been working hard with our BEATnDRUM samba band will also be drumming in the main parade.

The parade will feature hundreds of talented performers from local schools and community groups who’ve been working hard with our friends at ISLAND Arts Centre and ArtsEkta to bring fairies, goblins, elves, trolls, mermaids, gnomes and other mystical creatures to life. Come join in the magic on the streets of Lisburn on May 10th – and pass the story on!
