Bombin', Beats and B-Boys

Friday 21 June 2013 - 21:00

Bombin Beats and B-BoysFor years, filmmaker Chris Eva has recorded Northern Ireland’s growing underground hip-hop scene, where sectarian baggage is left behind and the catchphrase is, “It’s not where you’re from – it’s where you're at.” From old school b-boys to present-day rappers, Eva's film shows how hip-hop and its early proponents were peacemakers in a broken community.

This screening is part of the Beat Carnival's “Urban Ballet” festival. The screening will be followed by a discussion with some of the featured artists and a live jam in the QFT bar showcasing local DJs, MCs and b-boys.
