Urban Ballet Dance Workshops
Come along and join our Urban Ballet Parade as one of our 100 dancers!
Urban Ballet is a large-scale, international hip-hop dance and music project that the Beat Carnival will be bringing to Belfast for Culture Night 2013.
The Urban Ballet project involves dancers, singers, choreographers and musicians from four cities across the world, Grahamstown (South Africa), Santa Maria de Feira (Portugal), Cenon and Bordeaux (France) and Belfast - we're delighted to be hosting the final leg during Culture Night Belfast on the 20th September.
Dance workshops for individuals run on Wednesday nights in the Beat Carnival Centre until (and including) the 3rd July. These rehearsals will begin again in late July and run until the Belfast event in September - see our www.facebook.com/BeatDancerInResidence page for more info.
On the week leading up the event, there will be rehearsals every night run by our international partners; these will be accompanied by a live band for a carnival atmosphere!
All workshops are free of charge and open to young people and adults from Year 8 and above.
No previous dance experience necessary - just bring lots of energy and a positive attitude!
