"I first came across the Beat Carnival this year at the mighty Culture Night Belfast 2013. The hundreds of drummers and dancers at the foot of St Anne's Cathedral sent musical vibrations into my muscles and activated every groove bone in my body. It was euphoric and uplifting for body and spirit. I immediately wanted to be a part of it and subsequently joined the Brazilian Maracatu lessons on a Monday night in Boyd Street. [The Beat Carnival Centre.] What an amazingly creative, artistic space, coupled with great teaching and motivation. I love it. Thank-you to all involved in funding and organising this, thanks for being so inclusive and patient and fun."
