COVID-19 Notice: Group Activities Ceased

NOTICE 15 March 2020

ACTION REGARDING COVID-19 RISKS:  BEAT CARNIVAL GROUP ACTIVITIES WILL CEASE

Concerns around COVID-19 continue to increase, precautions are advised to help prevent transmission of the virus and more drastic measures will be taken by the Government in the coming days and weeks.

In this worrying and confusing time, Beat Carnival does not wish to add to the risks and anxieties of our Beat community. We have therefore decided to cease group activities: each of us practising social distancing is regarded by many as the best way to help slow the spread of the coronavirus. Tuesday’s outdoor Belfast St Patrick’s Day Carnival Parade was already cancelled. In the coming week and for the future period, indoor activities where people of all ages come together at Beat Carnival Centre will also not operate. This includes the regular, evening programmes that people are committed to.

There are many serious factors that have to be considered and in doing so, we have made this difficult decision.

Thank you for your understanding.
