We continued providing our weekly programme during the past year of Covid-19 crisis. Adapting to safety guidelines, much activity with participants had to take place through online engagement. A few times relaxed coronavirus restrictions meant we were able to produce a number of outdoor performances at a much reduced scale than normal. More often, events could not happen at all or were cancelled.
Starting into this second year of global pandemic, we still need to deliver participation activities through distanced access. We look forward to sharing creative entertainment in public spaces again – and hope to grow events in incremental stages, as conditions allow, through 2021 and into 2022. An outdoor arts company, Beat Carnival is well-placed to enable appropriate (safe) formats of events. Planning and preparing for ‘real-life’, public-facing, carnival arts, is high priority now.
