Singers & Choirs – exciting opportunity to be part of a spectacular outdoor performance!

The Beat Carnival are inviting enthusiastic singers for Belfast St Patrick’s Day Carnival Parade 2014.

We are commissioning a Belfast-themed song, to be an outstanding artistic feature of the St. Patrick’s Day Carnival Parade on Sunday 16th March 2014. The song will be premiered on the streets of Belfast with a band, large choir and percussionists.

No previous experience is necessary! We are looking for enthusiastic singers: individuals and choirs/singing groups of all ages and abilities are welcome.

During the rehearsal process you will learn the song and receiving basic training in group singing, harmony, performance and techniques to warm up your voice effectively. Rehearsal times will be given upon expression of interest. Two compulsory dates for participation are a full rehearsal on 2nd March and 16th March for the performance! We also ask that you attend at least 2 to 3 other rehearsals. The main programme sessions will take place at the Beat Carnival Centre, 11-47 Boyd Street, BT13 2GU. Other venues to be announced.

Our parade theme is St Patrick: To The Future, with St Patrick appearing as a time-travelling adventurer. The Beat are producing the St Patrick’s Day Parade, with over 500 participants, for Belfast City Council. On Sunday 16th March, the parade leaves from City Hall at noon and finishes at Custom House Square by 1.00pm.

If you love to sing or have always wanted to give it a go, then this is the project for you! Contact Katie Richardson at The Beat Carnival to register interest or for further details.
