St Patrick’s Day outreach with WheelWorks and Wandsworth Community Centre

We’ve had a lot of fun working with our friends at WheelWorks and Wandsworth Community Centre in preparation for our Belfast St Patrick’s Day Carnival Parade. Since our theme for this year’s parade is “St Patrick – To The Future”, participants used art and graphic design to create special futuristic newspaper front pages and headlines which will feature in our colourful parade. Here’s a sneak preview of the fantastic finished results – keep an eye out for the headlines this Sunday!

Our carnival kicks off the St Patrick’s Day Belfast celebrations, leaving Belfast City Hall at 12 noon. See St Patrick re-imagined as a time-travelling adventurer on a colourful journey to the future of Belfast. We’ll have eye-catching floats, performers, music and participants of all ages from all communities in our shared city.

Our carnival parade will be followed by a free St Patrick’s concert, compered by Citybeat’s breakfast presenters, Stephen Clements and Sara Neill, featuring former X Factor winner Shayne Ward alongside Emerald Armada, Sontas, the Tir na n’Og Irish Dancers and the South Asian Dance Academy. See Belfast City Council’s website for news of that event.

We’re working with many talented participants in the build-up to our joyous, welcoming St Patrick’s Day celebration – keep an eye on our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter to keep up to date with our collaborative work!
